This remote control unit works well but the real test will be how long it lasts. My original from Panasonic lasted 10 years whereas a replacement from Amazon lasted one year. It is not identical to the original. It appears to be a general purpose controller programmed for my particular recorder. Hence the user has a little relearning to do regarding the naming and appearance of keys, but it is very easy.
