Our story

We began with a focus on sustainable repair and have grown into a leading destination for appliance spare parts, while continuing to support repair professionals and the public alike.

  1. Founded as FlatTVParts.co.uk

    Began as a thought in the kitchen, the goal; to specialise in harvested TV parts. We quickly developed strong working relationships with leading insurance loss assessors and recycling facilities around the UK to build a robust supply chain to enable cost-effective, sustainable TV repair; quickly became the UK’s leading retailer of harvested TV parts. From a kitchen, to a shed, expanding to a small stables and growing our product range.

  2. Postage Challenges

    As the business grew, we quickly found that taking orders to the local post office every day was not a sustainable approach, we opened our account with Royal Mail and had our first collection.

  3. Growth

    We outgrew our shed and stables and moved into a dedicated warehouse to allow growth and the improvement of our procedures as sales increased. Product range grew to over 20,000 unique products.

  4. LappyParts.co.uk launched

    A sister site extending the harvested-parts model to laptop components.

  5. More products

    Onwards as we pass 30,000 unique products.

  6. Spares2Repair created

    FlatTVParts with approxmately 40,000 unique products and LappyParts with nearly 10,000 unique products brought together under the Spares2Repair brand to streamline sourcing, stock, and customer experience.

  7. Appliance spare parts expansion

    TV repair became increasingly hard for the general public to achieve as typical failure points moved from individual boards to the screen and backlights. Pivoted into supplying white-goods and small-appliance spares, rapidly scaling in-stock range and near-stock availability to a combined 100,000 lines in stock.

  8. Global Pandemic

    Increase in sales required rapid development in our systems to handle varied product types and increased daily order throughput.

  9. New Boxes

    To ensure we didn't ship air to our customers and waste resources on void fill, we designed and sourced an increased range of boxes to ensure not only were our products delivered safely, but as efficiently as possible with more boxes available to better reflect the size of products and orders.

  10. Continued Expansion and Website Development

    With more customers than ever requiring our services, development of new and improved operating procedures were needed to ensure our standards did not drop. With development of new sister websites to help customers find the parts they need for their appliance increasing customer satisfaction and ease of repair.

    Welcome DPD

    To offer our customers more options we began offering DPD delivery across our platforms.

  11. New Fulfilment System

    In house designed QR code based fulfilment system developed and deployed enabling increased throughput for goods in through to despatch for orders.

    Parcel size calculation

    We wanted to be able to offer cheaper shipping rates where possible, so we developed a method to calculate the size of an order to enable us to offer cheaper shipping if the item is small.

  12. New Warehouse System

    In house designed QR code based warehouse system developed and deployed enabling greater storage density and accuracy of stock and fulfilment.

    Consent Mode v2

    Consent Mode v2 compliance system designed and developed in house, successfully deployed. We desired our own solution as we strictly limit third party access to our platform for customer data security.

    New Image Based Search

    In house designed system to allow a user to take a picture of their appliance model number, upload and be automatically taken to search results for their exact model and production run, increasing customer satisfaction and correct part purchase.

  13. Continued Refinement

    Fulfilment systems redeveloped to improve staff efficiency and experience to further reduce errors and increase productivity. With on time order picking success rate at over 99% and "in window" delivery metrics for UK deliveries at 98%
